<title>DougKercher: Success At Golf</title>
<link>http://www.raz-sports.com/sports-forums/article32.htm</link>
<description>DougKercher: SUCCESS at Golf (or anything) could be briefly described with the following formula.
Goals
+ Assessment
+ Knowledge
+ Planning
+ Practice
+ Execution
+ Review
= Success

The first part of this course is all about setting goals.

First you have outcome goals. These include success in competitions, a
personal best, an average score to aim for or a reduction in handicap. Maybe a five shot improvement might be a starting point.

Setting yourself a big goal is something that will stretch you.

Look through your competition schedule and find an event you might want to do well in. This might be a club competition, a tournament at another course, a business day with the boss or clients.

Golf - Your Perfect Plan has a Tournament Calendar to help you do this.
Schedule your minor and major competitions and think about playing in
something that will challenge you.

What sort of results are you after?
What scores will you need?
What shots do you need and how well do you have to play them?
What techniques do you have to learn or improve?
What are your practice goals?

In Section 2 of Golf - Your Perfect Plan, I have put together some goal
setting charts to help you with this process just by filling in the blanks.</description>
